Merry Christmas!

Hello my dears,
This year was so special for me, I think it was the best year of my life. I met a lot of great people and did a lot of crazy stuff but I'm sure that all I have done was pretty great. Of course there are always things you worry about but everything went nearly perfect. I'm not quite sure if I'll do a kind of review here with a lot of pictures but I think so. Maybe the next days when I'll be a bit more relaxed.
I have to say that this year wouldn't have been the same without you. You probably know how thankful I am for your kind words and your faithfulness.
Now I'll have hopefully a great evening with my parents and my aunt and I hope you do so as well. I wish you a merry Christmas with a lot of fun, nice hours and a great Christmas meal! Enjoy your free days and here are the promised greetings I got for you on Friday.
The Nürnberger Christkind herself made this great photo for you!

Bloggers against racism!

Hello my dears,
Honestly I just got the idea for this photo when I posted the Sunday's music tip today morning. You maybe read that it's 'Love is color-blind' of Sarah Connor. Yeah, it is and that's why we mustn't discriminate others just because of their skin color or other appearances. It's the great thing that we all are different. How boring would life be if everybody would be the same. You wouldn't need humans because everyone would be replaceable. Probably a robot would write this post right now for his robot friends. I think we should think about the bad things we did during the last year on Christmas, even if it was unknowingly.
In summer this year I was at the  pcfritz bustour in Nuremberg and made a great experience concerning skin colors. I met Nana Lifestyler https://www.facebook.com/NanaLifestyler?fref=ts and asked him for a photo, then he wanted to do one with my mum and asked me later if it is black and white or colored. At first I thought I understood something wrong but Nana is just relaxed. He knows that he has a different skin color like most of the other Germans but he has no problem with this. And that's what he's like. He didn't only win my sympathy with this sentence.
And then I also had to think on Paradise Oskar's song 'The invisible ones' but you can see it on the picture.
Along these lines: bloggers against racism!

Christmas market

Hello my dears,
Today I visited the 'Nürnberger Christkindlesmarkt', the Christmas market of Nuremberg and it was just wonderful. Unfortunately it was pretty full so that you couldn't see everything but that doesn't bother me when I'm in Nuremberg. All smells like ginger bread and hot wine punch and the whole town sparkles.
I didn't know that there's a small market only of the partner cities. It was so great and I found a lot of new presents there. If you haven't seen it, you probably can't imagine. One store is next to the other but there are a lot of different countries in a few meters. Poland, France, Scotland, Spain, Italy, Greece, China and even Cuba. The sellers were sometimes even of this countries and you could buy things like shortbread, olive oil, wood figures and special soap. I preferred the Cuban shop, the seller was so funny and you could even listen to Cuban music.
But now enough words, let's look at the photos. Oh and I got some very kind greetings from something very special for you but I'll show you them on the 24th ;)

Christmas story

Hello my dears,
Instead of the usual Advent calendar you'll get today a film tipp for the best time of the year. It's called 'Christmas story' and it's from Finland. That was honestly the main reason for me to buy it..
Meanwhile I'm so happy that I've bought it, I watched it twice this week and my mum even wanted to watch it again the day before yesterday.
All is a about Nikolas, a little boy who becomes an orphan because of a terrible accident. The village that the boy lives at is pretty poor that's why no family can care about him forever. They decide to let him live with each family for one year and every Christmas he has to change the family.
He takes this day to give little presents to the children of his bygone families, also he brings a present to his sister Ada who died in the accident as well.
After it was each family's turn, there's no one left to take him beside the dark carpenter Iisakki. Nikolas has to work hard there but on Christmas Eve he gets to know Iisakki's story, followed they become friends.
I don't wanna tell you more about it but I really can recommend you this film. It's a mix of dark Finnish mood, hope and tension. I love it.
Have a great day, maybe I'll post another calendar stuff today ;)

18th December

Do you also know people you can't lie at? Even if you don't wanna show your feelings, they immediately know them and can speak with you about it.
Thanks my sweet cookie :)

I'll stop wearing black...

...when they invent a darker color.
I read this sentence in the last glamour magazine and I really liked it. I'm not just a black wearer, but I love this 'color'. You can just combine it with everything and it's alawys a bit in the background. Last month you couldn't read this post but you can see pictures in my second fave color right now!
Because of my term paper about Paris' fashion, I worked a lot with this color. Isn't one of the most famous dresses the little black dress? It was invented by Coco Chanel. After the death of her big love Boy Capel she started working again but all seemed to be black. She let painted her whole flat in black and this color even found a place in her creations. Before black was just used for sorrow clothes and attendants but Chanel made a revolution with her dress. I still remember another story concerning this topic. When Chanel was in the US some people wanted to shoot a movie about her, Hepburn was chosen as main part. Chanel was content with the idea of being played by Audrey Hepburn, the young beautiful actor. But that was a mistake, Katharine Hepburn, about 20 years older than Audrey should play the role. Chanel was very angry about it. Isn't it ironic that Audrey Hepburn brought the little black dress back in the focus a few years later with her famous movie Breakfast at Tiffany's? And Monifa Miller is very right with the sentence 'A black dress, it's never going to go out of style.' In the following photo you can see Chanel in her celebrated dress.

Now let's go on with fashion because what would the winter be without a coat? Last year I bought this pretty black one. I didn't like the button and so my kind mum changed them for me. Now it's kind of an unique copy. I love the style even I don't know why. But I'm looking forward to the new things I'll experience with it. Waiting several hours for the next Sunrise Avenue concert or running through Bayreuth for seeing Frederic Heidorn. We'll see but I'm sure we'll be a great team!

That was probably enough fashion for one month. The most obvious black thing in winter is the sky. Even if it's before 04pm you have to turn on the light, I hate it :/ This night sky might be romantic but I prefer being outside till 10pm without needing any light. Summer, I miss you!

Advent - familiy time

Hello my dears,
I'm so sorry that I didn't manage to open a door on Saturday and even yesterday. Maybe you read on Facebook that it was because of family stuff. Still today this topic hasn't left my mind and I'm very disappointed about the situation in my family on my mother's side. Harmony is a foreign word in this family. Everybody doesn't like the other one and talks about things he isn't concerned and he doesn't know about.
I'm 17 years old and it's no secret I'd prefer living nearer at my relatives than over 300km away. After each visit I count the weeks till the next one and four weeks before I can't speak about anything else. Nevertheless I don't wanna go there the next weeks because there's already struggle. I'm sorry that I have a godson in Peru. I'm sorry that I'm member of the Red Cross. I'm sorry that I do church stuff voluntary. And I'm sorry I don't wanna sleep at my grandma's house because I don't want her to have this work with meals and linen. I'm sorry that I'm the way I am and if I'm not welcomed you don't have to see me.
I hope your pre-Christmas time is much better and you enjoy the free time with your family but:

And here's already the next photo of Olly Murs. Sometimes I'm listening to a song and just one line speaks to me that I have to post about immediately. Olly Murs - Anywhere else

Happy St. Nicholas Day!

Hello my dears,
Today is a very special day. Of course it's St. Nicholas Day and all of us are more or less in a Christmas mood. Tomorrow I'll do some Christmas shopping and I hope I can find something suitable for me loved ones. It's not easy always choosing the right thing.
Also my German blog celebrated its 300th post today, I know it's nothing special for this anniversary but I already plan the real anniversary on the 2nd April. I know there's still a longer time left but I wanna do a whole week with small surprises for you again.
So enjoy your evening,
_Marie_

memo - DRP envelope

Hello my dears,
As you know, this month everything is about upcycling and environmental protection. I'm looking forward to the next four weeks when I can give you my stuffy tips within reason.
Because I have to send a few letters the next time, I was looking for a better alternative for classic envelopes last week. After a short time I found this page
and enquired about the production of this product
http://www.memo.de/DRP-Briefhuellen-DIN-C6/Direkt-Recycelte-Briefumschlaege-und-Versandtaschen/Versand-und-Verpackung/Bueroartikel.memo?groupId=4388&page=group.jsp. Instead of handling with new paper, they take scrap paper like old maps, calenders or posters for the envelopes. First class upcycling because of the avoiding of trash and making a new product out of it with less energy and water needs. This product can call itsself the most ecofriendly envelope according to the 'Öko-Institut', not bad?! A package with 100 pieces costs 6,84€, that means 6,8 ct per envelope. In my opinion it's a very fair price because you don't just help the environment but also German working places. Memo was very kind and sent me a parcel of it. Thank you again! I'll try them very very soon.

I found a lot of other great things in the shop, like Christmas presents or school and office stuff. But the coolest thing is this one:
That's really a bag with a solar cell that can charge your smartphone or MP3-player. Great thing! Didn't know that this exists.
Great fun when browsing through the ecofriendly portal and have a great day!

Word of the month 12/13

Hello my dears,
Luckily everybody knows recycling nowadays and more and more people regard such products when they are shopping. But how about upcycling? Do you know this word? I explain you the difference to recycling with an easy example:
You buy a bottle of water. The glass bottle has to get produced, therefore you need energy and resources. When the bottle is empty, you got two possibilities. You can put it into a bottle bank, your bottle gets a new life after remelt it down. That's a good idea but you again need energy for it. Instead of trashing it, you could decorate it and use it as a vase for example. In both cases your bottle lives a new life but with the second possibility you wouldn't need energy for it, so it's recycling that's even more environment-sparing. That's upcycling. You create something new out of trash. I already deal with this topic for a longer time now because the perfect combination of environment and DIYs is

Maybe you can remember an old word of the months. I talked about my collection of sunglasses and was looking for a possibility to store them. About one month ago I had an idea and I was busy with this upcycling stuff. The basic shelf is always the same, I'll show you my version step by step. During the following four weeks I'll present you also other upcycled things. This time I used mandarins' boxes, old bonbon papers, old wooden boards and a tiny bit of color from the cellar.

Sunglassesshelf

For four sunglasses you need:
* one empty mandarins' box
* color
* glue
* 'glitter paper' [old bonbon and chewing gum papers]
* three thin wooden boards, ca. 7 x 18cm [you can take the wood from other mandarins boxes]
* 12 small spikes
* thin carton and cellotape

Let's start:
At first clean the mandarins' box, that means remove glue and paper from the sides and wipe it out. Probably there are some small holes in the bottom, so cut circles out of the carton and fill it with the tape into them. Now just choose a pretty color for painting the box' outer face and the wooden boards. If you want, you can of course paint it everywhere. When the color is dry, paste the inside of the box with the glitter paper in a suitable color, I collect these papers for years now because I think it's a pity trashing it. My paper hasn't clung at once so I put glue on several parts after the first drying again. When again everything is dry , mark six points for the spikes, there are always two points at the same height and have a distance from about 7cm, to the next two nails but you can see it better on the picture.

I made three boxes and found the perfect place to look at my favourites all the time. I hope you like this upcycled DIY and you maybe try it on your own. I'd like to see pictures of yours then! If you need any filling, here are the links to my 'bestsellers:
